Community Nutritional Development Centre

Eating in a healthy diet can reduce the risk of obesity and illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis and some types of cancer. SMPT has partnered with Social Development and Kagisano in ensuring that the community eats the correct diet by providing them with a free lunch created and decorated in combining different types of foods.

This balanced meal is served Mondays to Fridays from 12:00PM till 14:00PM ensures that the right amounts of food are used so the body gets all the nutrients it needs while maintaining a healthy weight, because a good nutrition leads to a healthy lifestyle. SMPT is busy working on a project to combine the healthy nutrition with physical activities that will help in maintaining the weight and reducing the risk of chronic diseases.

“Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It's important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It's the way in which we ourselves grow and develop”
